Passive Voice

Simple Present Tense

  • Active : She usually does her homework
  • Passive : The homework is usually done by her
  • Active : I keep your secret
  • Passive : Your secret is kept by me
 Present Continous Tense

  • Active : You are leaving Agu now
  • Passive : Agu is being left by you now
  • Active : He is buying a book
  • Passive : Book is being bought by him
 Present Perfect Tense
  • Active : Teacher has explained the lesson
  • Passive : The lesson has been explained by teacher
  • Active : They have finished their homeworks
  • Passive : Their homeworks have been finished by them
Present Perfect Continous Tense
  • Active : We have been riding horses for three days
  • Passive : Horses have been being ridden by us for three days
  • Active : He has been meeting them
  • Passive : They have been being met by him
Simple Past Tense
  • Active : Andre killed someone
  • Passive : Someone was killed by Andre
  • Active : He borrowed my motorcycle last week
  • Passive : My motorcycle was borrowed by him last week
Past Continous Tense
  • Active : The children were playing football when i slap them
  • Passive : Football was being played by the children when i slap them
  • Active : He was drinking mineral water
  • Passive : Mineral water was being drunk by him
Past Perfect Tense
  • Active : I had seen this film.
  • Passive : This film had been seen by me.
  • Active : Rudi had caught the ball
  • Passive : The ball had been caught by Rudi
Past Perfect Continous Tense
  • Active : They had been writing letters
  • Passive : Letters had been being written by them
  • Active : He had been sending a SMS
  • Passive : A SMS had been being sent by him
Simple Future Tense
  • Active : I won't fix the machine
  • Passive : The machine won't be fixed by me
  • Active : The farmer will harvest the crops
  • Passive : The crops will be harvest by the farmer
Future Continous Tense
  • Active : I will be sweeping the floor
  • Passive : The floor will be being swept by me
  • Active : April will be making a mistake
  • Passive : A mistake will be made by April
Future Perfect Tense
  • Active : You will have spoken english well
  • Passive : English will have been spoken well by you
  • Active : The workers will have built the flyover roads.
  • Passive : The flyover roads will have been built by the workers
Future Perfect Continous Tense
  • Active : They will have been entering this club.
  • Passive : This club will have been being entered by them
  • Active : The cat will have been blowing the candle
  • Passive : The candle will have been being blown by the cat
